Aminu currently works at the department of Applied meteorological services, Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) as a meteorologist. Aminu does research on climate change impact particularly on extreme events, and connection between artic climate system and West African monsoon system as well as comparing the performance of different satellite rainfall estimates (SREs) with respect to rain gauge observation. In addition to his academic background, he has years of experience in applied meteorological services and data processing. Numbers of award was received by Aminu including National youth Service Corps (NYSC) award for “best corps of the year” in Dutse, Jigawa State.
After his successful master’s degree graduation from University of Reading, United Kingdom he embarked on visiting lecturing at Muhammadu Buhari Meteorological Institute of Science and Technology (MBMIST), Katsina where he taught Climate change studies, Physical meteorology, Climatological statistics, Quantitative techniques for climate analysis, and Differential equation (D.E). He is a member of Welker Institute, University of Reading, UK and Nigerian Institute of management (NIM). He undergone several program on climate change organized by United Nation (UN) climate change learning partnership.
